  • What is the purpose of a “Digital Learning Day”?

    Posted by:

The purpose of a digital learning day is to extend and enrich student learning while school is canceled due to a weather event or other emergency closure.  The time spent on academic work during digital learning days will prevent the student from having to make-up missed days due to school closure.

  • How long should my child work on a digital learning day?

    Posted by:

Students are NOT expected to work at home as long as they would work at school.  That is not practical or realistic! The length of the digital learning day will depend on the age/grade of the student.  Here are some general expectations:

PreK and Primary age students: 30-45 minutes

    Elementary age students:  60 minutes

Middle and high school age students: approximately 2 - 2 1/2 hours total

About Digital Learning Days

  • Online learning days are an excellent alternative for students when school closure occurs. Online learning days using Cloud Campus provides students the opportunity to continue learning the standard being taught in class without any interruptions. The Online learning days removes previous worries of “when will students have to make the school day up”, and it allows families to have immediate information as to what the student must complete during a school closure.
