Mr. Yelberton Frazier
Hello!! I am Yelberton Frazier, 8th Grade Math Teacher at JCMS. I am super excited to start my 26th year of teaching!
I am originally from Albany, Ga and was born to two college educators so I guess it can be said that teaching is in my blood. I graduated from Westover High School in 1982,having played football and run track. I attended Bethune Cookman College (now University) in Daytona, Fl on a combined academic and football scholarship where I played for NFL Hall of Famer Larry Little. I majored in Mathematics and graduated with honors in 1987.
I have been here at Jasper County Middle School since the 2004-05 school year, having taught previously in Macon (GA), Jacksonville (FL), Valdosta (GA), and Bainbridge (GA). I have primarily taught mathematics but have also taught social studies, reading and computer science. I have also taught mathematics and Business economics at the collegiate level. Until this year, I also coached football, basketball and track here at JCMS for the past several years.
I am the proud father of two beautiful daughters, Ivie (now studying at Valdosta State University) and Khari (currently a 12th grader at Central High School in Macon).
I truly believe that with the right attitude and enough hard work Mathematics is "do-able" for everyone. I look forward to working with this year's students and helping them achieve success in Math this year. Together, we can and will do GR8 Mathematical things!
