Hello, my name is Patty Cole and I am the Healthcare Science Instructor at JCHS.  I am a graduate of JCHS and I've been a Registered Nurse since 1995.  It is a privilege and honor to be able to teach where it began for me. I am married to a wonderful man named Hung that also graduated from JCHS. He is retired from the Unitied States Air Force after 20 years of service and now is an elementary grade level teacher.  We have two grown and married chidren that are both registered nurses and I am proud to say that they began their healthcare careers in my classroom.  I am excited to share my experience and knowledge with students interested in becoming a healthcare professional.  No matter what type of healthcare professional a student wants to be, I welcome the opportunity to teach them and give them the ability to grow that interest. 

I teach the Nursing Pathway which is a patient care pathway.  This pathway consists of four classes: Introduction to Healthcare, Essentials of Healthcare (EHS), Patient Care Fundamentals (CNA), and Patient Care Technician (PCT).  I teach Essentials of Healthcare which is the second course in the pathway and it is a 2 credit course that gives you a credit for EHS and a credit for Anatomy and Physiology (counted as a science credit) upon completion.  I also teach CNA as the third level course and upon completion of this course and all requirements of time and clinical rotations are met students are eligible to take their Georgia Nurse Aide cerfification.  This class is also the last class for students to complete their Nursing Pathway.  The last class that I teach is the PCT class.  This is a fourth level class in the nursing pathway.  Upon successful completeion of this class students are able to sit for the National Patient Care Technician certification exam.
